Selecting A Contractor

As a public service, we offer the following
WARNING TO HOMEOWNERS / CONDO OWNERS

Whether reconstructing or remodeling, avoid disappointment and disaster by considering these tips when choosing a contractor.

Beware of Contractors:

Who are unlicensed

Who expect you to pull the permit

Who use low cost to get the job (they’ll likely cut corners in construction)

Without Workmen’s Compensation and General Liability Insurance

Who do not provide a Lien Release after each draw

Who request more than 1/3 down at contract signing

Not offering a contract specifically outlining the scope of work

Unable to provide an estimate acceptable to your Insurance company

Who do not provide a Guarantee for the work

Office location and hours

Who will not put project start and finish dates in the contract

Who are not based in Florida

Use a FL Licensed Contractor to insure reliability after the work is complete.
